One Planet Living is an international sustainability initiative based on the idea of living within the limits of one planet’s natural resources. One Planet Living is the vision of a world in which people enjoy happy, healthy lives within their fair share of the earth’s resources, leaving space for wildlife and wilderness. It is based on ten guiding principles of sustainability as a framework. The WGV estate by Landcorp is is WA’s first One Planet Community internationally endorsed by Bioregional.
We’re consuming resources and polluting the planet at a level the Earth cannot sustain. Ecological footprinting shows that if everyone in the world consumed as many natural resources as the average person in Europe, we’d need three planets to support us.
The One Planet Living framework was developed to help people and organisations to live and work within a fair share of our planet’s resources.
It uses ten guiding principles as a framework to help individuals and organisations to examine the sustainability challenge. The framework is helping shape the Evermore WGV project.
Evermore WGV is recognised by peers as a Global Leader in the prestigious international program One Planet Living. This places the development alongside other internationally recognised One Planet Communities including WGV in Perth, Westwyck Ecovillage in Melbourne, Villages Nature in Paris and Somo Village in San Francisco.
